Chinese Selfie car

Yes, you have read that right , a car can click your selfie. China’s E-commerce  giant Alibaba  along with the partnership of SAIC , a Chinese state-owned country’s largest automotive company revealed its new RX5 SUV for the Chinese market . The company  claims it to be an Internet car. It’s Alibaba’s First attempt to enter the automobile market.

Chairman of Alibaba’s Technology Steering Committee.Dr. Wang Jian said that the difference between an internet car and a traditional car is that connected smart operating systems like YunOS will improve the consumer experience beyond just driving.

Alibaba said that rather than accessing the internet through third party apps it wants to provide the internet directly in an ecosystem where all the information is shared between the users.

The car will run on an operating software developed by YunOS which has earlier developed OS for mobiles ,fridges, and vacuum cleaners. Similar to Tesla Model S the internet car will also have a giant LCD touch screen to interface with the OS. It also has a 360-degree detachable camera for recording trips and selfies.

In addition to these features, each driver will be allocated a unique ID and would be able to pay for parking spaces , fuels, and coffee through OS. The car would even give you personal suggestions about nearby restaurants , air temperature, and music.

President of YunOS Zhang Chunhui said that it would be an open ecosystem and the software would be available to other automobile companies as well .

Price for this SUV starts at 22500$ and deliveries from august .

 

Tesla Model 3 , Officially book from India

 

Finally the moment has arrived, after so much anticipation Tesla revealed its Model 3. Looking at its specifications and design we can definitely say it’s worth the wait.

• It goes 0-98 km/h in less than 6 seconds.
• Has a range of 350 km.
• Has an auto Pilot mode for self-driving and parking.
• Easily accommodates five 6 foot adults.
• Deliveries start in 2017 but for India it will probably be in late 2018.
• A nominal price tag of $35,000, which at current rate is 2326273.25 Indian Rupees.

 

The most surprising thing was that, just few hours before the bookings started, Elon Musk himself tweeted that it could be booked online from several more countries (including India).  The list includes more than 45 countries. There are no confirmations about when they would start producing right hand drive cars but there must be several people who might have booked it already.

First the left hand drive cars will roll out of the Factory and will be delivered in North America, starting from the West Coast and moving towards east, after this they will start the production of left Hand drive cars for other countries.

Deliveries for India won’t start officially until late 2018 or early 2019, also the price would definitely shoot up after adding the import duty and custom charges. We can expect it to be something near 45 to 50 lakhs. At this price it would be more of a luxury Car in India. We can hope to see some competition with Germans.  Let’s wait and find out how soon we can see a Model 3 on the streets of India.

Mahindra’s US Based firm Genze  launched its urban mobility electric scotter  for the American market priced at $2999 . Its called Genze 2.0 . It is designed for students and Urban commuters  and has a range of 30miles with  the top speed is limited to 30MPH . The battery is detachable and takes about 4.5 hrs to charge .

The top level trim of Model S ie P85D is famous for its insane Acceleration  mode  and there are lots of review on this car . 2,000,000th Land Rover Defender

A one-of-a-kind Land Rover Defender has been sold for £400,000 (USD 600,000) at a prestigious charity auction at Bonhams yesterday night to a bidder from Qatar. The unique vehicle was built in May 2015 by an all-star cast of brand ambassadors and people from Land Rover’s history including Bear Grylls, Virginia McKenna OBE and Stephen and Nick Wilks, sons of the founders of Land Rover. All proceeds from the sale will be donated to Land Rover’s humanitarian and conservation partners; the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC), who will use the donation to help communities in South-East Nepal to improve how they tackle natural disasters, and the Born Free Foundation who plan to use the funds to support the ‘Project Lion Rover’ wildlife conservation initiative in Meru National Park, Kenya .
